This week’s film resource of the week is…
Video Copilot has helped out many filmmakers and editors in the past and will continue to in the future.
Lightsabers, blood, titles, sky replacement, almost anything you can imagine video copilot has.
Video Copilot was started in 2007 by Andrew Kramer who continues its upkeep today along with a team of other talented individuals.
From their site:
Video Copilot is a collaborative resource for training, design tools and artists. Our goal is to show you what is possible and how effects can be created so that you can apply these techniques on your own creative adventures. We strive to develop distinctive and innovative tools that improve the quality and speed of your production while offering freedom and flexibility.
The only downside I can say is that some of the plug-ins used for the effects cost a bit of money. As in you have to purchase them for a lot of the tutorials to be of any real practical use to you. These add-ons can be quite pricey. However, if you are looking to be an editor or VFX artist then I would consider things like this an investment and Video Copilot as a valuable resource.
Check out Video Copilot and let me know what you think!
